What Prepaid Card

Prepaid cards are a new and expanding phenomenon in the UK. A prepaid card is a payment card (usually MasterCard, Maestro, Visa Electron or Amex), pre-loaded with your own money, which you can then use wherever the cards are accepted, including online and abroad.

A prepaid card is much like the gift cards available from most high street chains in the UK, however, they have a much wider acceptance, and can be used internationally. They are essentially the same as credit cards, but spending is limited to the amount of money they have loaded on them.

Virgin Money, The Post Office, Western Union, Ministry of Sound and lastminute.com are among the many companies to have launched their own prepaid card.

It became quickly apparent with the increasing number of cards being launched in the UK that there was a need for an independent review and comparison website to highlight the different price structures and functionality available in the market.

i-KOS now manage the overall marketing communication strategy and control entirely the search engine marketing for which-prepaid-card.co.uk. This site invests upwards of £4K per-month on a combination of Pay-Per-Click, SEO and PR.

Within the prepaid market which-prepaid-card.co.uk is regarded as a ‘super affiliate’ website generating some of the highest online sales volumes – often outperforming the ‘big name’ comparison sites – a testament to success of the highly-focused marketing behind the site.
