As designers we often ponder on why this is so. All too often, companies call a design or marketing agency, once their project is ready to ship. Our conclusions lead us to believe that many businesses mistrust, misunderstand or simply do not value design. More often than not, we then have to develop a back-story and brand personality, putting a ‘spin’ on the product so that consumers just might notice it. We place such strong emphasis on design because it matters economically; not just aesthetically.
